Hi everyone,
We found a way to use Meetup again, WPM will pay for 5 organizers which will make up to 15 local groups possible. If you are interested in being one of the organizers, please place a message on this list indicating your name, location, and rough population. best wishes, Paul |

Hi Paul,
It's me again, albgardis, from the other thread. I recently moved to a rural area in Northeast PA. Weston is about 9 miles behind Hazleton. You have no idea, of course. Scranton is about 35 miles north, I estimate, Wilkes-Barre and Mountain Top are kinda in between Scranton and Hazleton. To be honest, I have no idea about how many people live in each town there. I would have to search online to find that out. I have seen many many people being registered on the waiting lists here, and everyone seems to be waiting for someone else to start a group. I am sure the high fees are main reason. And for me too, because having just bought the house, new appliances, repairs etc., there are no funds left this year for things like that. So I was very pleased to read your organization is willing to fund some groups. I would be very honored to become one of the organizers. My favourite idea is to start a group with the name "Daughters of Hekate", because that is one of my main deities, and I feel like I am her daughter. I would love to find other people with similar interests. She has other names in other cultures, also Brighid is referred to as the triple goddess. And even the christians found the concept of the trinity so interesting that they "adopted" it, hahaha... Now, I have not found any groups yet with that name, and since I could not pay to start one, I have never registered a group with that name. But there are other groups with similar concepts, like "Goddess" or "Witches" or "pagan". That all unites the same group of people, I think. At least I feel my faith concept fits all those descriptions. I am also registered in the waiting lists for vegetarians, herbalists, magickal, etc., because that all belongs together. At least in my point of view it does. There are a lot of people in these waiting lists, waiting to join these groups once they have been started. Please let me know what you think about my concept. Thanks for considering! albgardis |

Hi Albgardis,
We will be focussing initially on areas with somewhat larger populations. Any group that we fund would need to be called just "ABC Area Pantheist Meetup" and would need to have a group organizer who is in sympathy with the World Pantheist Movement's naturalistic outlook. That's not because we aspire to discourage other approaches, it's just that if we are using our funds, they have to be used in line with our aims. Obviously anyone can start a pantheist meetup anywhere, of any flavor. Your comments sound more supernaturalist and pagan-oriented with some supernatural flavor. That's not to criticize, everyone has their own preferences, it's just to clarify. Correct me if I misunderstood. Best wishes, Paul |

I am familiar with the WPM and joined last year. I am interested in what this title (organizer) entails and how it is funded. My husband and myself are Secular Humanists/Naturalists. Newly located in OKC with 15-20 min. local people on Meetup looking for such a group. We are meeting up with a local Atheist group tomorrow night and I may bring it up there.
